By the numbers.

Ranking for satisfaction and cost effectiveness is, of course, subjective and I’ve done my best to rank them in relationship to other accessories, or my pure enjoyment.  1 being the least, 5 the most.

For installation difficulty ranking I used:

  1. very simple plug and play, sticky tape or just a few nuts and bolts;
  2. simple plug and play but you must have reasonable mechanical and electrical skills and some parts may have to come off the bike;
  3. major body parts have to come off the bike to properly complete the installation or wiring is complicated; 
  4. more than body parts have to come off the bike or installation is very complex;
  5. major body and mechanical parts have to come off the bike and/or if outside services, other than paint or powder coating, are required.
